Design and Looks
Fly proclaims the S 110 Style is the “smallest phone”, maybe they meant the smallest in their lineup because it certainly isn't the smallest ever made. This simple looking phone features glossy plastic on the front that is sunk into a shell with chrome sides and a black back. These are nice touches and remind us of the Apple iPhone. The back is plain except for a Fly logo at the bottom. Coming back to the front we see a smallish 1.2” monochrome display. The diagonal size of this screen is misleading as it is a landscaped display that does not display more than a few lines at a time. So you can imagine how small the screen actually is.
Below the disappointingly small display is an equally disappointing controls set. Every button on this keypad with the exception of the nav-pad and its confirming centre is flush with the surface. These buttons are not easy to press and texting on a keypad like this is likely to cause sore fingers. It looks good but that's about it.
This compact phone is light on features and cannot do more than make calls or send text messages. So, there's not much to talk about. Battery life is also not extraordinary (although many will think otherwise.) This is because the phone uses a battery that outputs 450mAh current. For the sake of comparison, most phones nowadays are powered by batteries that output twice as much. So, this phone is nothing exceptional in the battery department either.
The Fly S110 is a novelty item more than an actual phone. We can think of better, more reliable and feature packed basic phones than this one. But if it's the style of this phone you are after, then the Fly S 110 Style is the right choice for you.
