Design and Looks
Sporting an elegant design, the Fly MC 160 Touch is a monoblock bar phone that looks a lot like a Nokia E series phone. Despite its delicate looks the phone is sturdy especially at the back where we see the rounded handset has rubberized sides and a dotted centre line. To add to the ruggedness is a silver frame that encircles the front fascia of the phone. It also adds class and good looks to an otherwise dull looking front. Up front, the display is a 2.4” TFT and produces a sparkling 262K colours over QVGA resolution. The pixels are over-stretched but the screen is bright and the colours are vivid enough to draw attention away from it. What's more is that the screen is touch operable so that adds to the phone's value too.
The keypad below is quite finger-friendly and the individuation of each key ensures excellent touch orientation. The phone's UI is lively and features drag and drop widgets like the ones on smartphones. The phone's audio processor is provided by a Yamaha chipset that delivers amazing audio quality. It's also obvious from the inscription on the back which reads 'music life' that this phone is a music monster. But for its price, it also packs in a great 3MP camera so it's just as well a camera phone as it is a portable media player. FM radio is also on board and so it the radio broadcast option that's common to most Fly phones.
With an internal memory of 87MB, you could store a few songs or you can always expand the memory capacity up to 8GB. The phone can also be used as a web cam or a remote control for the TV. Mobile Tracker is also built in and we're happy to say the MC 160 is one of the few higher end phones to sport this much needed feature. There is also a motion sensor built into the phone that lets users 'shake' the phone to switch tracks when playing music.
Finally, the phone's battery is extremely powerful as it is rated at 1300mAh. You have to admit that for the price the Fly MC 160 is selling at, it is pretty loaded- a good buy that you will not regret.
