Design and Looks
The Fly Ivory comes with a candy bar form factor and has dimensions of 112mm*56mm*13.25mm. The phone has a rounded design and features a good a smooth finish on the surface giving you a nice grip in your palms.
The front of the device is taken mostly by the 3.2 inch screen that is of resistive type and performs quite average with the standard interface provided by the Windows Mobile 6.1. The company does not have its own interface and thus uses the standard interface provided by Microsoft. The screen is capable of producing a resolution of 240x400 pixels with 262 colours.
The rest of the device consists of the D-pad, call and end buttons and two more buttons on the front panel. On the sides the handset features a volume rocker.
On the multimedia spec list the phone contains an average 2 megapixel camera. The camera is nothing to flash around as it takes standard pictures. There is no flash available on the phone which therefore makes clicking pictures in low light condition very difficult and probably impossible if you are ok with the ghostly images. There are various modes featured on the phone helping you assist when taking snaps. The modes include night and mono.
The music player on the phone supports wide variety of formats and does a good job of playing all the music formats with ease. The quality of the audio output on the phone is good but unfortunately a radio feature is missing out on the device.
The internal memory on the phone consists of 80MB and also features an expansion card that can take up to 4GB of memory space helping out with mass media storage.
On the communication side the phone is a CDMA phone and does a good job of providing a host of connectivity features such as 3G and Wi-Fi thus giving it an all round connectivity all the time. For local connectivity the phone features Bluetooth and USB onboard.
The battery time on the phone consists of 4 hours of talk time and more than 150 hours of standby time.
Overall a the phone stands a good chance if your considering your need for a cheaper windows mobile phone. The phone thus gives you a standard windows interface and which might be frustrating at times to use.
