Design and Looks
The E 106 Touch looks similar to the HTC Hero. Both phones feature a prominent curved bottom that is supposed to boost the ergonomic feel of the phone in the hand. On the front we see a 2.4” QVGA resolution TFT screen that produces 262K colours. It feels small because it fails to occupy the entire space that's available on the front but we feel the size of the screen fits the bill. Below the screen are the three hardware keys that are generally seen on touchscreen phones.
Since the touch screen plays a very crucial part in the phone's functioning- its intuitiveness is a matter of great concern. Touchscreens of the resistive variety tend to respond only to sharp, definite stylus presses. In the case of the E 106's touchscreen, we are happy to say that in addition to stylus control, it is also quite finger-friendly and hence thumbabale. If that's not enough, Fly also provides accelerometer control with the E106.
Since Fly pampers users with so many high-end features, it's natural that we become suspicious of the phone's build. Thankfully, the fit and finish on the E 106 is good and gives users that metallic feel. The chrome finished stylus must also be given credit because it is nicely built and features an extension that makes you feel like you're holding a pen rather than a pointing device.
The E 106's special features include 2MP camera with LED flash, motion sensor, MSN Live integration and also Dual SIM support. At the price of the E 106 you clearly get more than what you pay for so it's a sweet deal.
