Design and Looks
Fly have not always been original with their designs, the Fly C 250 X-Life is no exception. It is strangely reminiscent of the Sony-Ericsson basic phone design. To be more specific, it looks like the SE K660i. Strangely, the similarity doesn't end here; even the phone's UI is a lot like the ones on some SE phones but more on this later. Since the Sony Ericsson handset design is stylish, it follows that the C-250 looks charming too. On the front this phone is grey in colour and features a 2-inch 65K colour QCIF resolution screen. It's the most basic screen that you can get on a phone these days so it's not much.
The phone uses the BREW (Binary Runtime Environment for Wireless) platform that helps download all sort of small applications that can be used on the phone. The phone's media features include audio player, FM radio and a 2MP camera. Unlike other Fly phones, the radio player here is incapable of radio broadcast recording. The 2MP camera is basic too but features a few functions like 2x digital zoom and exposure control. The camera also supports video recording. There is also an image editor on board that makes video editing easy.
The phone employs the Qualcomm QC1110 chipset which offers better battery management and hence longer battery life. Purportedly, the C 250 is the first phone to make use of the QC1110 chipset. The C 250 operates in the CDMA frequency of 800MHz. In our opinion, we feel the phone is not worthy of its price. Fly have many other cheaper phones that are far more feature loaded than this one.
